Far from the froth of Bollywood bandwagon, a frenetic film reel on the loose, Seema Rahmani essays roles by living them. In portrayals that ridicule both rhyme and reason of commercial cinema, Seema’s Rose-Marie (Sins) sways with an essence of longing to be rescued whilst her Moira (Good night Good Morning) effuses warmth and poise that promises to save many a lost lads on the brink of heartbreak.

All it takes is love
I happened to stumble upon these buddies. The girl in the picture is the daughter of a cobbler. The boy is her brother. And this is their semi adopted dog. When she caught my attention she was rubbing a cloth all over this dog’s body, trying to clean every bit of him. He was standing there getting it done and feeling the bliss of this therapy. One can see the love in the dog’s eyes. The girl was imitating her father and doing what he does to shoes. Even though this act may mean nothing to many, but to someone who saw it happening it could mean a lot of things.

Romania, No country for dogs
Tens of thousands of dogs will be put to death because this is the only way our authorities know how to deal with this. It’s easier; it’s cheaper so it must be better? But then humans see numbers over emotions. Here are the facts: Bucharest in the period 2001-2007 has been spent almost 9 million to kill 144,000 dogs (62 Euros per head). Sterilization instead only costs 20-25 Euros per dog.

11 Best Movies for Animal Lovers
Of the myriad themes and genres I have touched, animal movies have always ruled the roost. From the well known to the relatively obscure, this dog has compiled a list of some cinematic gems you might enjoy. I have skipped some popular titles like Marley and Me, March of the Penguins, Cats and Dogs, Free Willy etc. for most of you would have already watched them.

I will love you…
After a fair decade, I returned to the world of Lemony Snicket. I borrowed Beatrice letters from Fernfly, devouring it to the core. How right was C.S. Lewis when he quoted,” A children’s story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children’s story.”, profound!
I am a stray dog
In this guest post Amrita Paul questions the indifference the so called ‘pet-owners’ have towards the homeless dogs. Is the pedigree and a collar that necessary for our friend; to have not the privilege of a pet, but at least the equal rights to survive?

Happy Dog Day!
“The signs of wisdom”, the old man said, “are the realizations that the volume knob also turns left and the fact that best of friends come with a tail and a cold, wet nose”.
A poem by the dog
Sometimes in between the paragraph
while you look for that lost word
or when you draw that doodle on the marginalia
a pencil dangling in your slender fingers
caressing that lock of untamed hair…
I miss my dog
When I close my eyelids deterring to the noise of the world ─ a cauldron about to bubble over, veering my thoughts to all that will remain placid and unchanged by time, oblivious to the humans passing me by, there by the orchard Rusty forever be chasing my demons away. To her I would always be the boy who never grew up.
A dog, few cats, and Albert Einstein
Nobel laureate and TIME magazine’s Person of the century Albert Einstein changed our understanding of the world as we knew it unlike any other scientist. In 1905, hailed as the renaissance year for science, Einstein published four research papers and toppled over 200 years of scientific fundamentals with theory of relativity giving, perhaps, the world’s most famous equation, E=mc². Einstein was fond of animals and enjoyed the company of cats and dogs around him.
