Abhishek Joshi founded Dog with Blog in 2009 and has grown it into a 150,000-strong community that has helped place more than 1,000 dogs and cats in homes across India. He writes evidence-based pet-care guides, runs verified foster and adoption listings, and tells the stories that move people to adopt.

His writing for Dog with Blog appears in The Book of Dog, an anthology alongside Ruskin Bond, Gulzar, Maneka Gandhi and chef Vikas Khanna.

Is there something like Animal Intelligence?

Animals are smarter than most of us think them to be. Animals have always had intellectual abilities however what fauna friends refer to as intelligence might be entirely different from human definitions. It’s like searching for life in far off galaxies, but then life forms in a particular planet may be in contrast with what we have here. To us motion, respiration, activity etc. might be vital signs of life but who knows if for a green alien in Mars life means being in vegetative state? Similar is the quest for animal intelligence and as far as I am concerned I never had a doubt about it.

BBC finds tigers in Himalayas!

The big cat has always had an aura of alacrity around it. Amidst fears of their extinction, there have been resounding rumours — sometimes loud and at others whispers that the tigers roam and rove in the mountains of Bhutan. Following the trail of this rattling rumour, an expedition was undertaken by BBC Natural History Unit. The team captured the images of a snow leopard cub from over 5000 meters in the air.
