There’s something magical about Istanbul and cats. From the city streets that are brimming with kittens to the fleece-lined cardboard boxes with food & water at the cross-sections. And yes, you can also find a cat with her own statue!
In the city of thousand cats, this Istanbul kitten took making news to another level, by interrupting a live news feed.
This week, during a live broadcast of the Turkish television program “Good Morning Denizli,” an uninvited feline visitor decided to drop by the studio for a surprise appearance.

The kitten made her way to sit on the laptop of the presenter, who carried on talking unfazed as the cat literally cat-napped the show.
Our anchor Çelebioğlu to his credit did more than merely taking the cat interruption in his stride. He used the opportunity to encourage viewers to show compassion for homeless cats in the community:
“As you know, winter is coming and cold weather is passing through, It is an unexpected guest, [but] we should cuddle him. We should open the doors to stray cats and give them water and food […] We all should take care of them somehow.”

After the broadcast ended, the kitten was not only provided meal and hugs but an employee at the studio decided to adopt the cat, giving him the name Hüsnü, which means ‘beauty’.
