Which came first egg or the chicken?

It is said that age old mysteries have a vintage charm of their own. Be it the Stonehenge, the Pyramids, legend of Troy or the lost city of Atlantis, the myth and the magic surrounding them has kept us enchanted for long.

Having said that, none of the conundrums can quite match the enigma surrounding the chicken or the egg dilemma; perhaps for its sheer simplicity to evoke responses even from toddlers or baffling the brains of homo sapiens, failing to come to a consensus. ‘Which came first egg or the chicken?’ has ignited many thinking brains to ponder over life and its first signs. The scientific and philosophical mystery was supposedly unraveled by researchers at Sheffield and Warwick universities, according to the Daily Mail newspaper. British scientists claim to have finally come up with the definitive answer: The chicken.

The scientists found that a protein found only in a chicken’s ovaries is necessary for the formation of the egg. The egg can therefore only exist if it has been created inside a chicken.

Hmm… guess children of the future would be bereft of this once elusive puzzle 😉

Hah! I am confused all over again. Guess I must lay back in the arms of someone…
