A ginger mother cat and her one surviving kitten need somewhere safe — Hyderabad

The story

She had four kittens. A feral tom in the building has been killing them one by one, and yesterday the person feeding her found another dead with a wound on its neck. She sat beside the body and licked it, trying to wake it.

One kitten is left. He is a ginger boy, and this week his mother picked him up, ran into a stranger’s flat and hid in the kitchen cabinet with him. That stranger is the person who wrote the appeal: they came to Hyderabad for medical treatment, started feeding the cats in the building, and travel home in about a week.

Both cats are friendly and used to people. The rescuer is arranging to have the mother spayed and both of them vaccinated before leaving. What they cannot arrange from another city is somewhere safe for the two of them to live.

A permanent home for the pair is the ask. A foster place in Hyderabad, for as long as it takes to find one, would also do.
