A rescued Persian cat in Delhi is halfway through her treatment

The story

This Persian female, around a year old, was found in Delhi after being abandoned and left to get by outdoors. By the time she was picked up she had lost weight and her coat had gone badly.

A vet has since examined her. Her blood work showed mild liver-enzyme abnormalities along with low protein and albumin, consistent with poor nutrition and physical stress, and she has started a five-day course of treatment alongside a recovery diet. Her fur had matted so badly outdoors that she needed a zero trim, so the coat in her photographs will take some weeks to come back. Her vaccination status is not confirmed.

Her rescuer is direct about the commitment, and rightly so. A Persian needs good food, regular grooming, indoor living and continuing veterinary care, and this one has a recent medical history that may mean follow-up tests. Her records will be shared with whoever takes her.
