Some stories remind us of the simple yet profound kindness that still exists in the world. This is one of them.
The story of Moo Daeng, the loyal dog, touched a nation. It showed that love and loyalty can triumph, even from humble beginnings.
For months, Moo Daeng waited in front of a 7-Eleven in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. He was a constant reminder of his homeless owner, who he lost in November 2024. This wasn’t a pup holding out for a snack but a tribute to an unbreakable bond—a silent promise kept in loss. Moo Daeng’s story, documented in various sources, struck a chord with the local community. Neighbors, moved by his hard work, offered food, veterinary care, and a comforting pat on the head.
Moo Daeng got the nickname “Hachi of Korat” because he looks like the famous Japanese dog Hachiko who became well-known in the 1920s. Hachiko waited at the Shibuya train station platform for nine years after his owner passed away while at work. Today, a national monument in Tokyo honors the loyal dog’s devotion. A community photographer, recognizing the impact of Moo Daeng’s story, began documenting his journey on social media. Each picture and update painted a portrait of quiet dedication, capturing the hearts of online audiences.
And then, something truly remarkable happened. Moo Daeng’s story caught the attention of Princess Siribha Chudabhorn. She is an animal welfare advocate and the niece of Thailand’s King. From a street corner to royal recognition, Moo Daeng’s life took an extraordinary turn.
On Jan. 23, Princess Siribha’s team announced that she had officially adopted Moo Daeng

“To all of Moo Daeng’s fans, I want to bring you up to speed so you don’t have to worry, feel anxious or have unanswered questions after all the recent drama. All my dogs have experienced trauma, whether through abuse, abandonment or injury. But in Moo Daeng’s case, it’s severe depression. While humans are able to hide their pain and appear normal on the outside, dogs are pure. They show exactly how they feel.”

Imagine losing the one person who loved you the most, the one who fed you, sheltered you, and made your tail wag with joy. That’s exactly what happened to this dog when their owner sadly passed away. But fate had other plans.
Thai princess known for her love for animals, stepped in to offer the pup a forever home. And just like that, a story that could have been about loss turned into one of hope and love. As more people learn about animal welfare, stories like this show us how kindness can make a big difference.
Why Adoption Matters
Every year, millions of dogs and cats end up in shelters or on the streets. They wait for a kind person to take them in. Choosing to adopt instead of shop can change a life—just like it did for the dog now under royal care.
Here’s why adoption is the best choice:
✔️ You’re giving a homeless pet a second chance. ✔️ You help reduce unethical breeding and puppy mills. ✔️ You gain a loyal friend for life.
If you want to get a pet, look at local shelters or adoption groups on Reddit and social media.
