Rescued from a pack of dogs at two months, Nemo is seven months old and still waiting

The story
Nemo was two months old when a student pulled him away from a pack of dogs in Pune. His mother and his siblings did not survive that week. She took him home and fostered him, wanted to keep him, and cannot: her family has said no, and her family has its reasons.
He is seven months old now. Male, vaccinated, not yet neutered. Shy on a first meeting and slow to decide about people, but once he has decided about you he is playful, and he has never bitten or scratched anyone. He eats dry food, cooked chicken, rice, sometimes daal. He would rather not go outside at all, which after the first two months of his life is fair enough.
He is in Hinjewadi, Pune. What he needs is a household that is already comfortable with cats and that agrees on him before he arrives, because he has been moved once and his foster is not willing to have that happen again.

Update, 26 August: Nemo still has not found a home, and his foster family says they have no choice left but to put him back on the street if someone does not step in soon. He is eight months old now, still shy for the first few minutes with anyone new and playful once he decides to trust them.
Update, 27 August 2026: his foster’s family has said he now needs to go, and without a placement she says she has no choice but to leave him back on the streets of Hinjewadi, Pune. He is 8 months old now, vaccinated but not yet neutered. She will hand over his basket, blanket, litter box and toys with him. Contact: [reveal email].
Update, 30 August 2026: Nemo’s family posted again, this time as a final call. The person who had tentatively agreed to take him stopped giving straight answers, and without a placement soon he is back on the street. He is now 8 months old, vaccinated, litter trained, and easygoing once he decides to trust you: a good fit for a working owner who wants a quiet, low-maintenance cat. Contact: [reveal email].
