Jagger survived being poisoned, then survived a failed adoption in Mumbai

Eleven months old, sterilised, vaccinated, and back at the start

The story

Jagger is eleven months old, female, sterilised and vaccinated. She used to shelter inside an autorickshaw when it rained. Someone decided that was reason enough to poison her and beat her close to death. She lived.

An adoption was arranged for her out of state. It did not hold: two of the resident cats went after her, another stopped eating, and after three days she was sent back. Her rescuer is already caring for eighteen cats and cannot keep her, and will not put her back on the street.

So Jagger is looking again, at eleven months old, for the home that is actually the last one. She is in Mumbai. Her rescuer takes enquiries by email.

Update, 23 August: Jagger still has not found her last home. Her rescuer is now facing a hard decision in the coming weeks if nobody adopts her, and may have to leave her back where she was originally found. She remains sterilised and vaccinated, and by every account she is an easy cat to love: cuddly once she settles, and especially fond of sleeping and playing in cardboard boxes.

Update, 22 September: Jagger still has not found a home. Her foster is now covering the cost of keeping her alone and says she cannot do it indefinitely. If you can offer Jagger a home, or know an indie cat who settled in well after a failed first adoption, her rescuer would like to hear from you.
