About Dog with Blog
The Story Behind the Wag: Welcome to Dog with Blog
1. The “Why”: Because Dogs Can’t Type (Yet)
We didn’t start Dog with Blog to add more noise to the internet. We started it in 2009 because we realized the world was full of “how-to” manuals, but very few “why-it-matters” stories.
We believe a dog isn’t a project to be managed; they are a soul to be understood. We’re here to help you become the person your dog already thinks you are. Whether it’s a retired police dog or the street-side “Indie” pup who stole your heart, every wagging tail has a story that deserves a voice.
2. From a College Campus to 900+ Forever Homes
Dogs have always been at the left, right, and center of everything good in our world. What began on a college campus as our humble effort to find homes for stray and abandoned dogs has grown into a vibrant community of over 100,000 pet parents.
Our track record isn’t measured in clicks, but in lives:
15+ Years of advocacy and storytelling.
900+ Adoptions (and counting…) facilitated through our active network.
A Global Pack of volunteers, fosters, and kind hearts like YOU who believe that “homeless” should never be a permanent status for a dog.
3. The Humans (and Hounds) Behind the Screen
Abhishek Joshi – Founder, a digital marketer by trade but a rescue advocate by soul. Dog with Blog started as our collective diary and evolved into a movement. We don’t believe in “perfect” dog ownership; we believe in showing up for your dog every day; even when there’s mud on the carpet and your favourite shoes have been chewed to a pulp.
Dr. Catherine Nicolaou, DVM – Medical & Editorial Oversight A seasoned veterinarian whose career has spanned Canada (including the Grey Cove Veterinary Health Centre) and the United States, Dr. Catherine currently practices in Florida. Her bond with Dog with Blog is deeply personal; she has worked hands-on with us in India to treat animals in need. Today, she provides the medical compass for our platform, ensuring every piece of health advice we share is medically sound and ethically grounded.
Abhilasha – Community Manager & Storyteller Abhilasha is the heartbeat of our community. A content marketing expert with a passion for building meaningful connections, she ensures that our message of #AdoptDontShop reaches the right ears. Whether she’s navigating subreddits to help a pet parent or curating stories that move people to action, Abhilasha’s work is driven by the belief that digital platforms should be used to create real-world impact.
The Editorial Pack We aren’t just “content creators.” Our team is made of real-life rescue volunteers, foster parents, and vet-techs. We don’t just research topics; we live them. From the heartbreak of senior dog care to the adrenaline of a midnight rescue, we’ve been in your shoes.
4. Is This Place For You?
Let’s be direct. You’re in the right place if:
You believe #AdoptDontShop is a responsibility, not just a hashtag.
You want science-backed wellness advice, not “my neighbor said” myths.
You travel with your dog and need to know which hotels actually mean pet-friendly.
Who we aren’t for: If you’re looking for quick-fix “dominance” training or want to find a breeder for a designer pup, this isn’t the corner of the internet for you. We focus on companionship, ethics, and the long game.
5. Our Non-Negotiables
Ethics Over Clicks: We never recommend a product we wouldn’t give our own dogs. Period.
The Indie Spirit: We have a deep, unapologetic bias toward Indian Pariah dogs. They are the heartbeat of this platform.
No “Pack Leader” Nonsense: We follow force-free, positive reinforcement. We lead with love, not fear.
Human-Verified: In an age of AI fluff, our health content is reviewed by actual humans with veterinary or behavioral experience.
6. Join the Pack
We’ve told you our story; now let us help with yours.
