And after a while sooner or later, the epiphany enchants you. Even if it’s for that momentary lapse of reason wherein you let go of rationality and that incessant hunt for greener pastures…you come to terms with yourself. You realize that there is magic in the mundane but no safe avenues; there is no forever but now; there is no freedom but unchaining one’s own self; there is no home for wherever you wander, you take your thoughts along…thoughts which construe the world as you see it— colored like a fairy tale or the colossal crumbling ruins of an archaic world. Yours, mine or ours, there are always tales. Waiting to be told.

‘There are stories within stories, whispered in the quiet of the night, shouted above the roar of the day, and played out between lovers, enemies, strangers and friends. But all, all are fragile things made of just 26 letters arranged and rearranged…’ — Neil Gaiman
Being a dog, I have been out there in the wild, seen streets up close and personal. Paid due attention to what you would call the mundane — the blink and you would miss moments that you pass by without a second glance…like a plastic bag caught in a whirl of wind! I have measured my life in escapes, sometimes even from my own thoughts.
I hope you too begin to see the magic in the mundane. For life quite like love, goes like tenants who quit without warning.

There is something grounding in watching a dog explore a simple street corner. No rush. No noise. Only curiosity. Only presence. These brief encounters remind us to slow down. They invite us to see familiar places with fresh attention. For many stray dogs, the street is both home and challenge. A single kind gesture changes their day. A bowl of water. A calm voice. A shared moment of stillness. Small actions shape real impact.
Next time you walk past a street dog, pause for a moment. Notice the scene. Notice the life in front of you. Sometimes the ordinary holds the most meaning.
If you feel moved to help, consider supporting local adoption efforts. A home changes everything for a dog that has only known the street.

What a lovely post! There is indeed magic in the little things of life and yet we choose to ignore them for ‘bigger’ or ‘more important’ responsibilities and tasks… I truly loved this piece. It’s like a reminder telling one to resume living life as it should be lived. 🙂
Thanks Deboshree:)
Reminds of the W.H.Davies poem, ‘Leisure’… WHAT is this life if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare?
