The story

Dollar is a gentle, friendly Indie male, about 2 years old, in Bengaluru. His previous owner abandoned him, and for about a year he survived in his rescuer’s building parking area and on the streets, where other stray dogs attacked him repeatedly.

When the rescuer came back from being out of town, they found him badly underweight with deep bite wounds on his neck, legs and forehead. He went to emergency vet care, and since 18 October 2026 he has been staying with the rescuer and has recovered well. No underlying medical conditions are known.

His anti-rabies vaccination started on 18 October and the final dose is due on 15 November 2026. He is not sterilised yet. The rescuer describes him as friendly, gentle, obedient and calm around people, and still trusting and affectionate despite everything.

The rescuer travels often for work and cannot give him consistent care. They are looking for a safe, permanent home, ideally a loving family. They are also looking for a shelter or rescue that can keep him safe until a family comes forward.
