One of the oft-asked query we receive on our adoption updates – would the dog shed?

Yes, he would.

Here’s a fact: There aren’t dogs that don’t shed.

We understand that you’re looking for low-maintenance dogs but all dogs shed at one time or another. There are no non-shedding dog breeds but dogs who shed less than others.

2. Regular baths will also help with shedding, especially with some of the specialized shampoos now available.

 3. Balanced diet — rich in minerals, antioxidants, vitamins, and essential oils will improve the condition of your dog’s coat. Omega-3 helps to support outer-coat hairs, providing waterproofing and protection from the elements.

4. Clean and disinfect the spaces where your dog spends time — his bed, the tiled floors, carpets or rugs.

5. Use a balloon to take the fur out of your furniture. Just take a normal rubber balloon, inflate it and rub it on the furniture. The rub produces a static effect that attracts the fur.

 6. Invest in a good vacuum cleaner 🙂 Lint brushes/rollers will help keep your black clothes fur-free. (Or if you have a black dog, there’s no problem)

  1. The balloon idea is pretty genius! If I brush my dog a few times a week with an undercoat rake the shedding isn’t so bad. The paws pamper undercoat rake works really well getting out the loose undercoat before it sheds all over the house, clothes, etc.
